A pocket MPC/SP-303 for the FM-1 — the repo nicknames it the “B-Boy Edition”: a chop sampler in the style of the late nineties, with up to 24 chops per track, three sampling tracks, and an FM lane. You slice, you map to the pads, you sequence like drums: the same old boom-bap workflow, on the same old little box.
What it does
For now, living as a desktop simulator (v0.8.0) — and the repo is admirably honest about its status: “not flashable FM-1 firmware until recovery is proven” — there will be no installable firmware until the author proves a rescue route. The same week r/MVaveFM1 was piling up threads of bricked units, that caution almost feels subversive.
Status
Upcoming, no license declared, unhurried pace. Its DNA is independent — not a Felucca fork — so it’s also a data point on how many different routes there are to this chip. Context and the rescue ladder in the ecosystem.
