Felucca 1.0.5.2 driven from an Arturia MiniLab 3 over DIN/TRS MIDI: a standalone two-device live rig, no computer in the room. This is a touring musician’s firmware: every problem noted in FORK.md is a stage problem (“I never wanted to have to press Save,” “I needed transpose and tap tempo without a computer”). By ELI7VH, whose track record is generative and creative-coding tooling.
Workflow
Standalone live performance: the faders mix the 4 tracks, the pads fire momentary effects, and
a 12-song setlist with silent autosave resumes on its own at power-up. Setup: ROUT = CH1-4 and
the correct DIN→TRS adapter; the Felucca.minilab3 preset ships ready to go.
Engines & what it emulates
All of Felucca 1.0.5.2’s — FM6/Dexed included — with 32 factory patches per synth bank, plus its re-voiced kits: an 808 with a longer, deeper kick and fuller snare+clap, and a CR78 with a dry, short kick and snare, soft maracas, woody conga, and rounded bell. Original synthesized approximations, no samples, with comparison WAVs attached to every release for the A/B.
What sets it apart
- Knobs that follow the channel (ch 1–4 = tracks); master DJ filter; momentary effect pads (repeat 1/8–1/32, reverse, tape stop, freeze, octave ±) that let go when you lift your finger even if the FX latch is on.
- Shift layer: shifted faders = delay+reverb sends, Shift+pad 8 = tap tempo; track switching by encoder click; per drum track, sound/vol/pan/sends with hit-to-select.
- 12 songs evolving in a reorderable setlist, autosave after 5 seconds of silence, and resume at power-on.
Status & caveats
Stable-tagged and extremely active (midi13→midi16, all in one day). It’s a fork of Felucca @
7414269 (1.0.5.2) on the codex/standalone-minilab-midi branch — the main branch stays
upstream. Back up before flashing.
