The other Doom. Keitark published this Doomgeneric-based port on October 4 — three days before zvenson’s fm1doom — and they’re totally independent projects: same game, different codebases and authors.

What it does

For now, rendering. The current candidate build hasn’t been flashed or confirmed on hardware, and the repo’s screenshots — the title menu, E1M1 in game — are renders from the desktop host. Earlier revisions did run on the device, so it’s not vaporware: it’s a port on pause.

Status

Its value is more documentary than playable. Keitark is also the author of fm1-nes, the NES emulator conceived as a worked example of bare-metal development for the FM-1, and this Doom is the same exploration with a different engine. Want to kill demons today? Use fm1doom (FreeDM). Want to read how Doomgeneric behaves on a pi32v2? This is your stop. Context in the ecosystem.
